全一卷。译于西晋（265～316），译者佚名。收于大正藏第一册。内容叙述佛陀为诸比丘宣说水喻七事，举人没于水；或从水中出，复还没于水；或从水中出，而住于岸，乃至达彼岸等，以比喻人由溺于罪恶之状态而至证悟之七个阶段。此经计有四种译本，以收于中阿含经中之水喻经为最详细，其他三本则大同小异。
