首山和尚拈竹篦示众云：“汝等诸人若唤作竹篦则触；不唤作竹篦则背。汝诸人且道，唤作甚么？”
无门曰：唤作竹篦则触，不唤作竹篦则背。不得有语，不得无语，速道速道。
颂曰：拈起竹篦，行杀活令。背触交驰，佛祖乞命。
