全一卷。有四种译本，均收于大正藏第十四册。(一)姚秦鸠摩罗什译之文殊师利问菩提经，又称伽耶山顶经。(二)元魏菩提流支译之伽耶山顶经。(三)隋代毗尼多流支译之佛说象头精舍经。(四)唐代菩提流志译之大乘伽耶山顶经。本经记述佛陀初成道于伽耶山时，文殊菩萨请示佛陀发菩提心之深义后，应诸天子等之交相请问，而自答种种之菩萨道。
