徐时栋，字定宇，一字同叔，学者称柳泉先生，浙江鄞县人。 资性通敏，委己于学。道光丙午举人，以输饷授内阁中书。两上春官，即家居不复出。湖西烟屿楼藏四部书六万卷，尽发而读之，丹黄杂下，穷旦夕弗倦。溴遭兵燹，图籍俱尽，乃营新宅，购藏如其旧，寝息于中，老而弥笃，覃思精诣，著书数百卷。晋世有《徐偃王志》，《博物志》曾引录，后亡佚。徐氏此书亦名为《徐偃王志》，广征博引，严谨考证，对先秦古徐国历史研究颇有参考价值。
