佛教经典，全称《能断金刚般若波罗蜜经》，又称《金刚般若波罗蜜经》，简称《金刚经》。由于篇幅适中，得到广泛传播，三论、天台、贤首、唯识各宗都有注疏，特别受到慧能以后的禅宗重视。相传是释迦牟尼佛在祇树给孤独园为须菩提尊者而宣说的经典，南北朝时代的开善智藏大师持诵金刚经多有灵验感应，唐朝以后的僧人，将本经视为阐扬佛性密意的经典，更因为禅宗各祖师的提倡，地位甚高，唐玄宗敕定《孝经》、《道德经》、《金刚经》为三教中最重要的经典，亲自为此三经作注。宋代公家则以《金刚经》测验僧侣。明成祖因国师临济宗的姚道衍之请，集僧俗二界善知识作《金刚经解》。
